Michelle obtained her LLB from the University of Sheffield and her Certificate of Legal Practice from Malaysia. She is a non-practising Solicitor of the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak. Michelle obtained the Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law and was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2003.

Michelle joined K L Tan & Associates in 2006 as a Paralegal and was appointed as an IP Manager in 2016.  She has been a regulated non-practitioner of KLTAN LLC since May 2023.Over the years, she has worked on various IP cases both in Singapore and overseas, prosecuting trade mark, patent and design cases.

Michelle manages the portfolios of many multinational companies in various areas in Intellectual Property, in Singapore, the Asia-Pacific region and in Europe, America, Africa and the Middle East. Michelle has wide ranging experience in the protection, protection and strategy in various industries, including mobile game software, IT, entertainment, food and beverage and manufacturing.
